CAN’T GET PREGNANT THIS MAY BE DESTROYING YOUR FERTILITY
Struggling to get pregnant? The problem may have less to do with fertility and more to do with your metabolism, hormones, and daily diet.
Dr Daniel Pompa explores why infertility is rising and how frequent snacking, low fat diets, ultra processed foods, and poor metabolic health may be affecting fertility in both men and women. The conversation also covers insulin, fasting, healthy fats, inflammation, and why gut health plays a bigger role in reproductive health than many people realize.
You will also learn how the microbiome, stress, PCOS, endometriosis, and everyday lifestyle habits can influence hormone balance and fertility, along with practical changes that may help support long term health.

Fat-Centric Thinking And Infertility Rise
SPEAKER_02
The fat in every cell contains sugars, proteins, and fat. We're a fat-centric, not a protein-centric. That I think is another shift that's going to get us in trouble. Protein poison is real.
Dr Pompa
Infertility is skyrocketing every year, but 4% rise every year, year after year on average.
SPEAKER_02
Insulin's job is to make fat. It doesn't decide whether you burn fat or sugar. You only burn fat.
Dr Pompa
Eating too frequently thing is a very American thing. You know, matter of fact, it's estimated that the average America eats 17 to 21 meals a day. Callie Means said, and it shocked me, even though I knew that infertility is skyrocketing every year. But 4% rise every year, year after year on average. Why?
SPEAKER_02
Same reason all other diseases are on the rise because we're living in an environment that isn't natural to a human lion. In our ancient past, we were hunters and we weren't in uh crowded cities like we do today and marketed uh to misery, I call it. Basically, we're taught that a plant-based low animal fat diet and three to six meals a day is healthy. And then you have all the plant substances, um uh nicotine, caffeine, um, heroin, cocaine, marijuana, uh, and it's marketed to our children. Um, and ultimately the damage that all these substances do.
Dr Pompa
I just did a show of my you you met my sons leaving here. Yeah. We just did a show on that right there. Oh, absolutely. They were addicted to all those things.
SPEAKER_02
I mean, at one time uh we doctors said smoking was okay. And they even claimed that a glass of wine is okay for a pregnant lactating woman. And we know that these are not true. And so it's time that we're sharing a story how we can eliminate these things, but it's a very, very tricky environment because the marketing to our children and as an adult, it's hard to give it up, also. You know, they say that uh nicotine is good for us, caffeine is good for us, but in fact, there are likely still some harms from all these substances. And then, of course, all plants are made of glucose, all fruits, vegetables, seeds, and nuts. And when you fill the gut with a high plant sugar diet all the time, the microbes flourish that causes gut inflammation, and then the gut inflammation basically migrates to the upper and lower respiratory system, to the pelvis and the reproductive organs, both men and women. And so this is our biggest problem today is how do we share an idea that says, hey, wait a minute, healthy fruits and vegetables in a plant-centric low animal fat diet may be the deadliest diet we've ever been taught.
Insulin’s Real Job And Confusion
Dr Pompa
Yeah. I mean, you know, just coming back from the Maha movement, it's um basically, hey, look, let's eat real food. Um you're saying maybe we don't even have the actual scope of what real food even is there. I mean, meaning there's real food. Plants are real food, but you're saying, hey, even um too much of that could be problematic.
SPEAKER_02
Three to six meals plus snacks in between, why would you have your gut full of plant-based foods from the day you're born to the day you die? So that means sugars are being uh simplified in the gut, they're being sent to the liver, and uh sugars are glycating and damaging to the gut and the liver when they're always being delivered. And then insulin is always on the rise because insulin's job is to make fat in the liver. So we're confused on the science.
Dr Pompa
But wouldn't you argue that um a plant like um you know broccoli, as an example, cabbage, whatever you choose, um, is going to raise insulin far different than, say, a grain, a processed grain, especially.
SPEAKER_02
Glycemic index is a is a fallacy because insulin's job is to go up when you consume sugars, and then in the liver convert the sugars to fat, VLDL, and essentially an adipocyte. And so our science maybe is a little incorrect because insulin's job is to go up when you eat food. And you eat food that the insulin goes up when you eat steak, too. Uh minimally.
Dr Pompa
Yeah. Well, well, well, in some people, it goes it, you know, how it is some people it's different than others.
SPEAKER_02
You're right. But the reason it does is because insulin rises when amino acids and sugars, so proteins and complex sugars are consumed, but it does not go up when you eat fat. Trouble is, really, our biggest problem is a low animal fat diet and multiple meals a day. You can eat a plant-centered diet if you cook them well, add the fat, eat less frequently, and 99% you'll be fine.
Dr Pompa
Yeah. I I eat I agree with the eat less fever. I agree with what a lot of what you're saying here, but that eating too frequently thing is a very American thing. You know, matter of fact, it's estimated that the average America eats 17 to 21 meals a day. And I said, that's impossible. That's not true. But what it means is every time you pass your kitchen and put whatever in your mouth, a handful of nuts, okay, or whatever it is, right? It doesn't matter. The fact is, is your body still has to pri insulin still goes up.
SPEAKER_02
Insulin's job is to rise, it's a digestive hormone molecule enzyme. Insulin's nothing wrong with it. There's nothing wrong with your body, actually. You're just eating the incorrect diet and you're living the wrong lifestyle. And that's why it's in our ancient past, not that long ago, we didn't eat all the time or snack all the time. We sat down and had a meal with our family, our friends, our community. We cooked whole foods. So I'm Italian in my heritage. And and and so there was always always a lot of meat and pasta and fruits and vegetables, everything. But that was that one meal, you maybe had a little breakfast, and that was about it. Now, I grew up uh in the in the 60s and 70s. I was born in the 50s. I turned 70 in two weeks.
Dr Pompa
Yeah, I I'm 60, so you've got 10 years on me. And I've never felt better in my life. But you know, but ironically, though, we we grew up very similar in the same generation.
SPEAKER_02
Yeah, yeah. And and I will tell you that I was sick as a child. I had uh I couldn't read. I had migraines. I was kicked out of school in a gang, and I couldn't read. And I can tell you, and I look back at it now and I go like, oh, all the cereals and all the we'll call it the the quick foods, all the toast and with with uh with butter and well, not the butter's bad, it was with cinnamon and sugar all over it. I mean, we just plowed it with all these things and jam and peanut butter. And so all these are not natural to our ancient heritage, and the lean meat breaks down to sugar essentially. And so insulin's job is to rise. So everyone's tracking all this stuff, but think about it three to six meals a day from the day you're born to the day you die. Is your gut ever empty? No. So if it's never empty, where's insulin? It's always elevated. If it's never empty, your body's always digesting the amino acids from proteins, the sugars from plants, and sending them to the liver. And so the liver is constantly being barraged. The the the the pancreas is always secreting insulin. That's right. And and so we're blaming fat and your body is damaged, uh, or it's it's diseased, right? But it's not. It's poisoned by a plant protein low-fat diet. It's as simple as that. Uh have you ever heard of poison ivy disease? Mm-hmm. Poison ivy disease. Okay. I just threw it out.
Dr Pompa
I thought, yeah, poison ivy. I've had it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02
Right. But it's not a disease, it's an exposure to a plant toxin that causes an inflammatory reaction. So ultimately, all diseases that we suffer from are exposures to foreign particles, antigens, that create an inflammatory reaction. Problem is you never stop consuming these things, breathing them or drinking them, and our environment is they're all over the place. And you know, they're they're in the things that we drink. And can you get away from them completely? No, you can't. But you could certainly learn ways to master a new way of living and thinking about all these things.
Snacking Culture And Constant Digestion
SPEAKER_02
Plus, the microbiome is deadly for us. There are no good bugs. There are ma microbes, bacteria and viruses, and other microbes in between that are everywhere. Right? We could sterilize this cable top. How long will it take before the mu bugs are back? Quickly. Quickly, right? And so this idea that we've given some bugs good, some bugs bad, is a a myth.
Dr Pompa
So you're saying the microbiome, we're talking about the organisms, pathogens, we say good, bad that make up our gut. You're saying none of them are good, even the bifidus, even the none of them. Yeah, none of them. The acromencias, the okay.
SPEAKER_02
And even probiotics may be harmful for us because they're putting more microbes in a fermentation vat. Remember, how do you make beer and wine? You put microbes, or they're there anyway, with the fruits or the seeds or whatever it is. Well, that's happening in our gut. Autobrewery syndrome is real. And my bet is as a child, I was suffering from autobrewery syndrome because I always had bowel bloating, bowel problems, migraines, and I could never pay attention. And so it's likely we're all making small amounts of alcohol via the good microbes making butyrate. Now, again, like smoking cigarettes gets you oxygen, doesn't it? But it's not good for you.
Dr Pompa
And so the microbes make mostly pathologic substances that we treat, you know, well, but but butyrate, butyric acid, our body uses for energy. Uh arguably 30% of your energy in your colon is made from butyric acids. And meaning it's a byproduct of the metabol uh of the fermentation.
SPEAKER_02
Does every cell of your body have blood going to it in a capillary? Of course it does. So why would your your epithelial cells in your gut utilize the butyrate that's that's in the in the colon?
Dr Pompa
Would you agree that even the I mean the healthiest humans still go through a fermentation process and still make uh energy from butyrate, utilizing energy from butyrate? Uh I mean, CO2, oxygen's an oxidative molecule, but yet we utilize it. No doubt about.
SPEAKER_02
No doubt about it. So the idea is we're studying most science in a standard dietary environment. It's rarely studied in a fasted state for week a week, almost never. No, I agree. Okay. And it's rarely studied in a in a fatty meat raw carnivore. Because when you cook meat, the fat is rendered. You're now left with mostly a lean piece of meat, which is mostly amino acids and sugars.
Dr Pompa
Okay. I have so many questions. Okay. And I'm throwing a lot of really opposite ideas. Yeah, but I enjoy the conversation. I and I know they have questions. Okay, so I'm trying to bring their questions into the conversation. So my brain's going, okay. Let's go back to the statement you made, because then my other questions kind of build on that. Okay, bad bacteria, good bacteria, you're saying they're all bad. Now, would you agree or disagree with the comment that we cannot live without these bacteria, however?
SPEAKER_02
You can't live without plants. You can't without live without the environment.
Dr Pompa
If I sterilize your gut, you'd die.
SPEAKER_02
Absolutely not, actually. Okay. The opposite is true because there are seasons.
Dr Pompa
Are you saying we can live without any bacteria in our gut?
SPEAKER_02
Yes, but not long because you can't sterilize the balance long. Okay, yeah, I agree with that. So look, it's kind of like let me sterilize the tabletop and then they come back.
Dr Pompa
But but wouldn't that make them Okay, so I'm trying to categorize this is you know, good and bad is almost a hard way to make this categorization. Meaning, like, in other words, if we die eventually without them, then arguably we live with them. And so how can we call them bad? Okay.
SPEAKER_02
So to label them good or bad is is is incorrect. Because which bug would you like in your blood vessels? Yeah, right. Okay, so look again, the 15 million people a year die of microbial infections. They belong there, at least certain ones. Well, well, well, again, they are there. But now to make a science, which is they are there. I like that. Which is a four billion dollar industry of selling you a probiotic without any true studies that are done by independent analysis. Okay. So again, the microbes are everywhere. We evolved with all of these things. Yeah. Okay.
Dr Pompa
But that doesn't mean they're good. But we can't live with a uh we can't live without them, meaning we live in unit, you know, a healthy biological system lives with them.
SPEAKER_02
They're there, but again, we're claiming something that um I treat patients with a a broad spectrum antimicrobial for a month to kill the microbes in the gut, and they get pregnant. And the reason is By the way, we just bought this back to infertility.
Dr Pompa
Well, it's all look at it. Guess where we started this conversation.
SPEAKER_02
Well, that look at this so the only thing that matters in life is our children.
Dr Pompa
Because reproduction.
SPEAKER_02
Our directive is reproduction. Yeah, everything we do, we podcast,
Microbiome Myths And Probiotic Skepticism
SPEAKER_02
we become doctors, uh, all the things we do are the mission of mating. Food and reproduction is all that matters. And so now we're healthcare practitioners, we're sharing ideas that we've seen help people, whether it's keto or carnivore or paleo or fasting or mindset, infinite ways to do that. We're now trying to understand the true science of the human body. Fat is the cause of disease. That's the message. And if you're obese, you're sick.
Dr Pompa
Yeah. Yeah. Matter of fact, you know, our our health secretary, you know, Bobby Kennedy just pointed out how wrong we were, right? It's like, you know, he flipped the pyramid, which is still laugh about that.
SPEAKER_02
Because the pyramids is less than 10% of your calories from from fat. And so we're still saying the same message. Nobody cares about fat in the food industry because the animal industry doesn't care. They they cut it off, they still make a lot of money on the meat they have. And so to make fat still the the bad the bad one here is incorrect because we are instinctually built to get fat. That's why this environment is so backwards. A sugar-based diet is the diet of the fall. In the winter, you are dead if you're not fat. I agree with us. And if you have low body fat, you're sicker than an obese patient. Because a low body fat, in which now we're, you know, between drugs and dissections and diets, which are we're all suffering, trying to be something. The brain says, Are you an idiot? Do you know what's coming? Yeah. And and so the problem is we're teaching people that fat is the problem. We're still teaching that.
Dr Pompa
Yeah, I always say fat doesn't make you fat, it's the inability to burn it, right? Which insulin is a fat storing hormone, and you store, store, store.
SPEAKER_02
Well, I'm gonna throw out some opposite ideas. So we insulin's job is to make fat. It doesn't decide whether you burn fat or sugar. True. You only burn fat. Adipose tissue is the only thing that matters. Your muscles are just another organ system like a liver and a kidney and a heart, that your body is doing the work to like keep it going. Your body wants you to make fat because it's used to an environment of it's hard to get food. The problem is it's it's most important survival mechanism. That's it. So we have a delivery problem. We have too much delivery of food. Even if you want to say processed food is the culprit, not necessarily, it's the availability of a high plant, low animal fat diet. Because if you eat fat, raw fat, like butter, it suppresses the microbes in the gut. Is that good or bad? It's good actually, because our biggest problem is overgrowth of microbes. And the fat adipose tissue does not go to the liver, it goes to the lymphatics. So you don't need insulin. So your problem is solved. And we used to treat type 1 diabetics before insulin, and and uh those with with epilepsy uh before uh medications for epilepsy with a keto diet, which was basically a fatty meat diet. And so I'm not telling everyone they need to eat meat, by the way, but and this is where a vegetarian is is solved because it's eggs, butter, cream, and cheese, because those are the fatty substances that nature makes. Plant oils are not the same as animal fat because plant oils are chemical compounds that plants make, which contain many addictive substances and harmful substances, that is our biggest problem. So a low animal fat diet solves so many of our problems.
Dr Pompa
Wait, you said a low animal.
SPEAKER_02
I'm sorry, a a high animal fat diet solves our problem. And it suppresses the microbes, it provides the nutrients your body requires, amino acids, simple sugars, and fatty acids and the minerals of ice come from the adipose tissue. And your insulin and liver are just like, oh God, thank you.
Dr Pompa
So and wanting to pull this full circle, one of your books really focused on um this whole uh, you know, insulin, you know, the everything you're describing is the reason for high uh the the increase in infertility. You know, meaning the inability to control your insulin glucose levels throughout a day is leading to more infertility, obviously, energy problems.
SPEAKER_02
Your body has plenty of energy. There's plenty of fat, and fat is the only energy, but glycation is different than glycosylation. So I'm flooding your body with the most allergenic, antigenic, inflammatory-causing substances, pollen, hay fever, very common, right? I used to take a ton of drugs for this all the time. And when I went carnivore, it all went away because the plants are antigenic. The sugars are foreign to the human body. We have a high manose uh sugars where plants don't. Um and basically the glycocalyx, which is the the fuzzy layer on every cell, which is uh negatively charged and it's the transmitter receiver of a cell, it determines your blood type, your human leukocyte antigens, it determines whether an egg and sperm identify each other. The sugars. So when you eat a high sugar, low animal fat diet, you actually damage the molecules on the cells that actually create the function. So the insulin and the cellular problems are due to the glycation of a high plant based low animal fat diet. And the microbes.
Dr Pompa
Are you making an argument that everyone should be carnivore all the time? No. No. Okay. No, because I've watched and I um it's not my style to throw. Influencers under the bus, but I've watched many of them who I said they're going to get sick and because not want any diet, someone should stay in too long, right? It's like, and sure enough, they they ended up getting problems.
SPEAKER_02
Well, well, I think the biggest problem in the carnival world is a low-fat diet. They claim they eat high fat, but they don't.
Dr Pompa
Wow. I I the ones that I've known are were eating high fat.
SPEAKER_02
Well, they're eating rendered fat, which is different than raw fat.
Dr Pompa
So even butter. You mean meaning they're eating cooked meat instead of raw meat? Correct.
SPEAKER_02
Okay, so but even most meat is lean. Okay, when you when you when you pasteurize milk, you damage the cellular molecular structure.
Dr Pompa
I agree, yeah. Raw milk is one of the best foods.
SPEAKER_02
100%. Now milk is for a baby, not for an adult. And and truly, nose to tail, animal is the best for us. But most animals we eat are lean meat, no organs, and the lean meat is mostly it's protein sugar-centric. So all cells of all organisms contain sugars, glycans, proteins, amino acids, and fatty acids. But when you cook the meat, you render the fat. It's now it's like clarified butter. It's you've you've devoid of all the natural molecules. Uh Pottinger did a study on cats. He fed them raw meat, cooked meat, uh pasteurized milk or raw milk. And those on the raw meat and milk were healthy, and their subsequent generations were healthy. So back to fertility. We're damaging your sperm, your eggs, which then affect the embryo, and it affects the DNA of those organisms, uh, epigenetics. That damage will be passed on to subsequent generation.
Dr Pompa
But so is all the toxins in the last 50 years. Oh, look 100%.
SPEAKER_02
Look at it. I grew up in LA. Yeah. I'd walk outside and just be brown. And so the air we breathe, the liquids we drink, and the this the environments we live in are off-gassing. Everything off-gasses.
Dr Pompa
Yeah, I mean, like, you know, you and I grew up on the Italian diet. We ate pasta every day, you know, bread every day, et cetera. You know, infertility was rare. Today, my gosh, I mean, infertility is, you know, 4% every year, as I said at the top of the show. What is the percentage of infertility now?
SPEAKER_02
Well, it's rising. You know, it was one in eight, now it's one in six and down to one in five, one in four. Why do you think it is one in four? That's crazy. All my daughters, friends, and and everyone, um, there was a lot of disease when we were children, and our our parents were children, by the way. We we were sick also. Plenty of sickness going on as the medical system began to ramp up. It's more today than ever before because marketing
Fat, Glycation, And Reproductive Signaling
SPEAKER_02
is so powerful. It's it's when we're children, and and you may not be listening, watching it, but your brain is is is is is taking it in. And so it's it is everywhere. And so I think you don't need to be a strict carnivore. I believe fatty meat is the healthiest thing to eat. Yeah. Eat less frequently.
Dr Pompa
We lack fat-soluble vitamins, the vitamin K2, the vitamin A, the vitamin D, right? And you only are gonna get that in really fatty meat. That that's correct. In the main place. Well, it's interesting.
SPEAKER_02
I question if we're really deficient in our vitamins in our diet. It's our standard food we eat, even in our keto carnivore world, that we're basically poisoned by the lean meat and the microbes in our gut in a low-fat diet. And it's it's again, it's the rendered fat that's not as good for you. So our problem isn't lack of nutrients, it's the chelation of the molecules in the gut that basically they go right out, or other damage to the cellular structures via glycation.
SPEAKER_00
Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02
And then you have the oxalates, lectins, phytates, and other things, that there's so much complexity to this, but there's also simplicity.
Dr Pompa
So, what what would you say, right? Um, I'm a real believer in mimicking ancient cultures, like you had made the point, right? If you're if you're going to raise insulin and eat, you know, more glucose-oriented foods, the fall is the time to do it because here comes winter. Winter is the time to be in carnivore ketosis, right? I mean, I we can mimic that. What is a diet that you would say? Because you said, okay, I'm not telling people just to eat meat. What are you telling people to eat? Well, I think fatty animal products, again, fat comes from animals. So if you built the pyramid, you would say the foundation, you would just put fat not just animal products, fatty animal products. Correct. You right? And and again, uh you know, again, there's a focus on lean, lean, lean. You're saying the fatty animal, the ribeyes. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02
In the new pyramid.
Dr Pompa
And you might be saying to eat it raw, I heard. Did I hear that right?
SPEAKER_02
So ultimately, no other animal cooks their food or asks for the macros. How much should I eat? And do you have a recipe for me to learn how to eat? That's just completely out of line with our ancient nature. Now, over time, you know, we started eating plants more. Uh likely the animals weren't as easy to get anyway, but there were some dictators that kind of understood the power. If I give you bread and beer, I can control you. You'll take nicotine, caffeine, and all the drugs, and you do anything I tell you to do. That's what the world is today, and it was 20, 10,000 years ago, and it evolved that way. And our ancient nature isn't different but our environment of the foods we are eating. So, what would I say? You want to focus on I do bacon, eggs, butter, beef, Kilts' ice cream, salt. Now, and one meal a day.
Dr Pompa
I don't know about Kilts' ice cream. We're gonna get back to that. We're gonna make a note. Oh boy, I don't know about this ice cream. Dr. Kilts has some ice cream here. All right, so all right, go ahead.
SPEAKER_02
So, one meal a day in general is the best thing. I do two to three days of fasting every month and five to seven quarterly. I did a 15-day fast uh last year, never felt amazing. I still doing my hikes in the hills with a backpack of uh 25, 50 pounds on me. And ultimately, when we clear the mind of all the toxins, the alcohol from the fermentation, all the other sugars, and all the other plant products that damage our brain, glycate them, we suddenly see and think clearly, everything changes. And now we could be as discerning as the lion that we are born to be and stop being a sheep.
Dr Pompa
So um again, uh with with this style of eating, again, you know, drawing the new pyramid, if you will. So, you know, we have the raw meats. Do you do you do you heat cook it at all? Okay, yes. Okay.
SPEAKER_02
I'm not I'm not always raw meat. I prefer my I I eat because we lost people right there. Okay. Yeah. So you do not eat need to eat raw meat, but the problem with overcooked meat is it glycates, advanced glycation and products are developed, and you lose all the fat. You mean with cooked meat? Eat cooked meat. Yeah, right, right. So when you cook it, so when you when you cook the meat, it loses its natural molecular structure and the fat is lost. It's rendered. The raw, fatty meat. So fish is gonna be better for you raw, in my opinion. Uh, chicken, I don't eat it because it's too lean. There's no fat there. But if you have if you have the whole chicken and you have all the organs in the skin, there's a different story. I tend to go to fatty red meat mostly. I do some bacon and eggs, but I'm I have a very narrow diet. No other animal is looking for variety. You're not looking for variety in your relationship, are you? You shouldn't that's that, but that's deadly. And our variety in diet is also deadly. We go out to so many different places that that there's so many different microbes in the environment of the places where they're being cooked or or prepared, you're at risk of a lot of diseases. And that's what's happening in our environment today, anyway. I prefer to eat at home. I tend to eat my ribeye steak, uh, rare to raw, black and blue with salt and butter. Done.
Dr Pompa
Simon would love it, right? Yeah. My son my son Simon, who you just met. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, matter of fact, we were just at a restaurant last night. We were at the Maha thing, and he said it back because it was, he's like, that's medium rare. He's always right. So I always look at the waiter or waitress and I say, listen, this steak will not go back if it comes out right from the cow and is no, it's raw, right? It said, but it will go back if it's medium rare, you know, or just rare, you know. So he describes it a thousand ways. It still comes out cooked too much.
SPEAKER_02
So so I was at the uh Maestro's Master's Ocean Club in Newport Beach last night. Yeah. And uh exact same thing happened. And uh I I called the the waiter over. He was amazing, by the way, and I said, uh, that should be my steak. This is overcooked. He said, Oh my god, I'll get you a new steak. And he did. And and uh took good care of us because I am uh for me the rarest, rawest, fattiest is what true health is built from. Because we're ancient hunters. When we hunted and killed, we didn't say, let's wait for the chef.
Dr Pompa
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02
Right on. And so no other animal does that. Now, again, this is radical. I'm not I'm not claiming if you do you don't do this, you're not gonna be healthy. Right. Plenty of ways to be healthy that you can eat cooked food, add more fat to it, eat less frequently, and you'll be better than ever.
Dr Pompa
What are some of your other favorite fats? Um, you know, obviously, you know, cheese, ancient cultures loved it because it brought them through winters, right? You take raw milk and make cheese from it. Now you have something that literally lasts, and cheese arguably is the perfect snack, protein loaded, fat loaded.
SPEAKER_02
So I'm fat-centric, not protein-centric. The fat in every cell contains sugars, proteins, and fat. We're a fat-centric, not a protein-centric. That I think is another shift that's going to get us in trouble. Protein poison is real. Uh, but yeah, I do. I love cheese. I love Morganzole. Uh, I I love blue cheese. I love cheeses, I love salamis. Uh, I eat those, but my really go-to is I just take steak and slice it up and eat it. I was at a restaurant, uh, steak 44 in Scottsdale. Scottsdale. Oh, yeah, yeah. Uh two nights ago. Uh, and and uh there was extra of the tomahawk uh Wagu uh Snake River Farms uh ribeye that I took it back to my hotel room next morning. I cut it up and shared it with one of my staff that doesn't eat meat. She eats fish. I said, take a bite of this. She couldn't stop.
SPEAKER_00
Yeah, it's good.
SPEAKER_02
And and and because it was essentially raw with salt on it, and that's the healthiest thing to eat because that contains minerals, vitamins, yeah, and the anti and the anti-inflammatory substance, which is fat.
Dr Pompa
And by the way, people don't understand the the meat is it is a concentrated form of nutrients because remember the cow ate grass. So all those nutrients are concentrated into that meat and fat, right? I mean, there it is. It's it's a concentrated vitamin.
SPEAKER_02
It's hard to kill a cow, it's easy to kill a plant. Cows have no poisons, plants have many poisons. And so we're we've made meat the cause of all disease. And when in fact it's the master meal. That was the center of health and wellness. And many cultures a few cultures today still uh they they drink the blood and the milk, and that's their primary meal for every day. Because that's the most it uh uh intense and contains all the substance our bodies needs, and what is it missing? Plant toxins and the microbial toxins, that is our biggest problem because fermentation in the human gut is real.
Dr Pompa
So what would you say? Because people I've heard this, um, well, I you know, I'm afraid to eat raw meat because I'm gonna get
Raw Versus Cooked Meat And Rendered Fat
Dr Pompa
parasites, or for our fish because I'm gonna eat parasites. What do you say to that?
SPEAKER_02
Well, the cow eats the grass and the gut ferments, and they have an intact system that keeps the microbes low and prevents them from getting through the glycocalyx of the gut. The plants the microbes are everywhere. You can't sterilize them very easily. I don't care what you do. I call lettuce nature's toilet paper. I don't care how much you think you're cleaning it off. The microbes are in the cells of the plant and on the outside. And ultimately, additionally, the plants contain latex. Is latex good for us? Plants contain latex? All plants. I didn't know this. All plants contain some form of latex. And there's the the the the goitrogens. So a goiter is a damaged thyroid gland. It's very common. It's the most common thing we see, and we treat thyroid disease uh uh very commonly in the infertility world. But these goitrogens are known to damage the thyroid gland. My bet is they damage every cell of your body and they cause tumors.
Dr Pompa
This is the canary in the coal mine, meaning it's the most sensitive, right? When we see very toxic people, this is my area of expertise, it's the thyroid that goes first, and then the adrenals come along, right? It's uh and so um what you're saying is that if it's affecting these cells, it's affecting every cell, we just see it manifest first here.
SPEAKER_02
Menstrual irregularity, pelvic pain, polycystical variant syndrome, uterine fibroids, infertility is rampant. As a gynecologist, how did we treat PCOS, polycystical variant syndrome, and how do we treat pelvic pain or irregular bleeding? A birth control pill. And so we masked the symptoms, but we didn't know the etiology. So the microbes in the plants and and the protein fermenting in the gut uh will damage the pelvis, the heat, alcohol, aldehydes, and methane gas, and then the microbes are flourishing. And if you look at uh James Henry Salisbury's work, uh Civil War physician from Albany Medical School uh in the 1850s wrote a treatise on the microbial overgrowth in a plant-based diet, switches men to animal products, they healed. In my world, the microbes they migrate to the vagina, rectumanus to the vagina, vaginitis, cervicitis, and cervical cancer. We know cervical cancer is an HPV, a viral disorder. Where's the virus come from? Likely the plants we eat that then migrate directly through the bowel, or they go out the rectumaneus and into the vagina, cervix, uterus, tubes, pelvic pain, endometriosis, infertility, ectopic pregnancies, and women are still dying of all these things today. And then systemic uh infections from PID plant cause, plant infested diseases, plant-caused ovarian sickness, PCOS. So the highly plant low-fat diet allows the microbes to flourish. They go up through the esophagus and they infect the upper and lower respirator system. Acne is secondary to the microbes that basically migrate out the mouth, and all the uh uh Hydra notis separativa, which is the the acne around the genital region, is humongous. We're missing the simplicity of these diseases. And so, how do I treat endometriosis? Uh a month of uh antibiotics, antifungal, antiviral, I recommend. A carnivore, strict high-fat carnivore, if you can. Wait, you can because what can you do? Anything because we're lions, and so these ideas are radical. Endometriosis is caused by the microbes that infect the pelvis. But what is the best culture media for microbes? It's blood. Blood agar is an agar. It's a blood agar. So the retrograde menstruation is common and normal to all women. But the microbes, they infect the pelvis, the peritoneal surface, and they damage all the surface, but they grow in the blood.
Dr Pompa
It would be interesting to see, right? Meaning, many people watching this would argue that it's the processed foods that are doing it, right? All the all the processed foods, right? You know, and um not the plants. Meaning, if we took somebody in more of an ancient culture that was eating plants, meat, you know, all of it, they would argue that you wouldn't see these conditions. But you're saying it is, in fact, the plants, not just the grains and the processed foods.
SPEAKER_02
So um have you ever um done an aspiration of a stomach after someone's eaten? Does it look like the food you just ate? Yeah. You're vomiting? Yeah, vomiting. But does it look like the food you just put in simple terms, vomit?
SPEAKER_00
Is that processed? It's processed. Yes, by your gut.
Dr Pompa
Yeah, okay. It's the same. But there's still the the let's take that. Okay, that's like a Vitamix.
SPEAKER_02
Okay, I'm you I agree with you, but here's the simple answer. The contents of the gut are processed, they're micronized, so they can be ingested into the vascular system of the hepatic portal system to go to the liver.
Dr Pompa
It still contained all the nutrients, all the food that they ate, uh, everything. Meaning the vomit of someone who ate a good, healthy steak is different than the vomit of someone who ate pizza. The vomit of someone who ate a salad and a steak is different than the person who just No, it isn't.
SPEAKER_02
Because every organism, every organism, so there are microbes everywhere in your gut, even in your stomach. Everything you eat, an animal or a plant, contains cells, just individual cells. I look under a microscope, these cells all look very similar. Okay? So when you take a pizza, you've taken meat, you've taken the seeds of a plant, you ground them up and made the shell, uh, and then you add cheese, all these things. So we we think we label food good and bad, healthy and unhealthy. Well, that's not true. These are our labels, which then enable us to have feelings about them. Well, I'll never eat that, right? Or that's not good for you. Oh, you're really eating that? These are our means. Aren't you labeling plants as bad?
Dr Pompa
No, I'm not actually. Okay. I'm not. Well, I mean, when you were making the argument um for you know the plants causing a lot of different um endometrial problems. They're they're they're goitrogenic.
unknown
Okay.
SPEAKER_02
Tumorgenic. That sounds bad to me. Well, again, look at everything you breathe, drink, and eat, you're gonna die. When you're gonna die, I don't know. What are you gonna die of? I don't know. We agree. I don't know if carnivore, keto, I have no idea which is the right diet. Okay. For you as an individual, now I take care of individuals, but I also look at populations. Our population in this world is dying younger. My sister died at 52, had diabetes since age four. My good friend Jim Slotnik died at 28 of glioblastoma, third-year medical school. He was a healthy dude.
Dr Pompa
Did you hear the thing increase in heart attacks in younger people? 18 to 55.
SPEAKER_02
Look at look at 18 to 55 is on the rise. I read the article. I already wrote a post that's coming out about that. We make it complicated. Every disease you and I suffer from, everyone suffer from, is the same cause. There are 17,000
Plant Toxins And Pelvic Inflammation Claims
SPEAKER_02
diagnostic codes. There are five causes of most disease, in my opinion. Plant sugars, plant chemicals. It sounds like you're telling plants bad, though.
SPEAKER_00
No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no. No, because it's on the bad list. The reason is okay. It's on the cause of death list.
SPEAKER_02
How's that not bad? Well, no, no, no. Because anaphylactic reactions don't happen from ribeye steak. They happen from plants.
Dr Pompa
So you're coming steak good, plants bad. Okay, be it's okay in the I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass.
SPEAKER_00
I'm really trying to give you a being a pain in the ass. I know, I know, but I'm not trying to be. I'm really trying to understand. I'm trying to understand. I'm not being contagious. I'll give you I really am trying to understand. I'm walking out here right now. No, look at I really am trying to understand.
SPEAKER_02
Okay, look at Occam's razor. What's that? Simple answer is the one. Okay. We've made science complicated. We've made nutrition and food complicated. We've made the human body complicated. Let's simplify it. Five things. Five things. Okay. So in general, no one is allergic and has an anaphylactic reaction to ribeye steak. Okay, there's this new tick. Yeah, okay. But it's you're not allergic to the meat. That sounds man-cause it is, it is, it is, it is. So what's it called? Uh yeah, well, we'll remember it in a second because we have it in our brains. But I figured out at 70, it's there still. It just takes longer to find. Yeah, exactly. So you probably at 60 find it faster than kilts. But but plants in general are more antigenic and allergenic. Plus I wrote about sunlight and a cyanobacteria capture carbon dioxide in the air and they make sugar, glucose. Glucose is the first molecule made on earth that begins a life form. And all plants, I don't care, it's a fruit, a vegetable, a seed, a nut, a root, the stem, it's all made of sugar glucose. When you eat mostly a plant-based diet, it's very fibrous. It's poorly digested. It's like putting steel wool inside your gut.
Dr Pompa
Okay? Can humans eat some of these plants? You're arguing we eat too many?
SPEAKER_02
We eat too many too often. Okay. If you eat them less frequently, cook the plants well to simplify them and hopefully kill the microbes, and add the fat, you're likely going to be healthier.
Dr Pompa
So government don't eat raw lettuce.
SPEAKER_02
I say raw plants are not in your favor in general. Okay. Okay, so these are very generalizations. This isn't like an all or none, but in general, I take care of sick people. We're here talking about if you're feeling ill, you got a problem. These are things that you should be the experimenter. Okay. Because science is mostly looking for a product sale or a diagnostic or therapeutic procedure that we're going to convince you that you're going to need.
SPEAKER_00
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02
But in so many people, I've seen keto carnivore fasting med fat, and suddenly they get pregnant or their arthritis. So my migraines went away, my doll bleeding, gone. I would sit on the toilet, it would be a hemorrhage.
Dr Pompa
You know, and and by the way, I it was said last night, uh, you know, people go from eating the standard American diet, whatever that is, ultra-processed food, right? To just eating whole healthy foods and they get pregnant. So I mean, there's an argument for clean up your life and you get pregnant, but there are these cases that I have seen that it's not until they go keto carnivore because they have a deeper root of disease that they don't get pregnant until they go, you know, in more extreme.
SPEAKER_02
I don't want to look plenty of people get pregnant that uh have a have a very bad diet, right? They're they're amazing. It's it and they do, or or they're alcohol, use alcohol or drugs and things like that. Yeah. I mean, by the grace of God, go all of them. It's amazing, right? But but my job is to give you information that helps you do the work yourself and heal yourself with some easy changes that I've seen people suddenly get pregnant.
Dr Pompa
Just to put we're gonna get back to those five causes, but to put just a you know, a real nice little envelope around this, okay. Um, when people, we said infertility skyrocketing, right? Of course, obesity and of course heart disease and all these, you know, cancer, et cetera, even in the younger generation. But infertility as an OBGYN, this is your expertise. You have one of the largest IVF clinics on the planet. Uh, you know, you've helped so many people. That's why you're sitting here. You bring these people in, you get them on a high, healthy, meat-centered diet, and you watch them get pregnant almost every time. Am I right?
SPEAKER_02
It helps many people, for sure. The challenge is I'm just sharing ideas. Okay. Whether you carry them out or not, it's purely on your side.
Dr Pompa
I rotate my diet. Um I go through different diets, carnivore, keto, and I purposely do that, right? So I'm carrying this out. You know, um, I'm trying to bring you know some you know sanity to it because I want to keep my viewers understanding that, you know, I'm I can't do that. I can't eat just raw. I'm you know, they'll they'll nix us because they can't eat raw meat because it grosses them out. I'm afraid of parasites, gross amount. I'm trying to get into their head to say, look, you know, when someone has a health challenge, you know, putting someone in a carnivore diet, I've watched it change lives. I mean, I've watched people go from autoimmune to no, right? It's a normalcy. I, you know, putting people in a keto diet, but I am one to say don't stay there because I've also watched people develop other problems from staying in these diets, right? So I'm just trying to bring a balance to it. And your point was, yeah, they were just doing the diet wrong, maybe.
SPEAKER_02
It's really hard to stick to a very different diet in an environment that doesn't maintain that. Because even I have some French fries sometimes, and uh I like my ice cream. I'll sometimes that's a regular ice cream. Okay, time to time.
Dr Pompa
So you're telling me, hey, I have balance in my diet too, but you are meat-fat-centered.
SPEAKER_02
Fatty meat-centric is my meal. A plant-based diet contains too many goitrogens, antigens, chemicals, and microbes, in my opinion. Okay. There's nothing recalled more than a plant. Or fruits and vegetables are recalled more than a plastic.
Dr Pompa
There's a premise called hormesis. You're a smart guy. No, you know what it is. Maybe some people watching don't. It's I'm not that smart. It's yes, yeah, yes, yes, um, you stress a biological system, and if it adapts to stress, it gets stronger. If it doesn't, it gets weaker. So maybe what you're discussing is because plants offer hormitic stress, meaning lectins, phytates, oxalates, they act hormitically. The even the microorganisms can act hormitically, meaning it stresses our biological system. If you adapt, you could arguably get a better microbiome. You could arguably, so isn't hormesis playing a role with some of these plant stressors? That's too intellectual. Oh yeah. Look, I lost you all.
SPEAKER_02
It is we are speaking in an intellectual world that has left most people out, in my opinion. My friend Joe and I, he loves to go into Hormisas all the time. Joe. I'm like, Joe, just my friend Joe. He'll know it. And and and he's a doc, and we we have these kinds of we're conflicting in these conversations in a good way. We we love the the conversation, the debate. But I would say that that's a story that you don't need. Because if you are focused on, in my opinion, uh animal products and minimized plant products, you're gonna be better than you've ever been. Okay, in my opinion. All right. But again, uh you don't need to be in it all the time. You can have small amounts of things unless you have an anaphylactic reaction.
Dr Pompa
I think I narrowed it down, right? You said spend most of your time. So again, I developed your pyramid. The base is fat-driven, you know, more raw the better, if you will, because it's unrendered fat, fat-driven animal products. Okay. And then the next layer of this might be, I guess it's a little plant. That's all that's left. Your pyramid is pretty easy. It is what about fruit?
SPEAKER_02
Oh, you would never want fruit. I'm not that smart. Remember that. So, so fruit. So, what did we eat in our ancient environment? We killed berries. They they gathered. I watched this. We did. But okay, we're we're theorizing, and based on science, neither of us were there.
Dr Pompa
Yeah, no, but I I spent time with an ancient culture that came out of the mountains and they didn't know, they never had they didn't have social media, TVs, nothing. And you know what they did? They hunted and they gathered. They did. No doubt. They fasted. They fasted.
SPEAKER_02
But they're all affected by the modern world. That's the one different things. They were isolated.
SPEAKER_00
I mean, well, again, the most isolated tribes. I was the first white guy they saw.
SPEAKER_02
Well, well, it may be true. Yeah. But but again, it's it is we likely we so yes, we ate it because it was sweet. Why do we eat sweets today?
Food Labels, Occam’s Razor, And “Scientism”
SPEAKER_02
Why can't we stay away from sweets? Survival. Because our brain says, eat that, get fat, survive the migration, hybridation, gestation, and famines. And so we've created a fat phobic world, which is wrong.
Dr Pompa
Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, Bobby said it last night in his piece. He said, look, hey, the government, what happens in government seems to never go away. It was like fat was bad, saturated fat was bad. It causes heart disease, causes cancer, blah, blah, blah. And to this day, the majority of the population still believes that animal fat is bad. And if someone says, I want to lose weight or I'm worried about heart disease and my cholesterol, they're going to say I'm getting rid of animal products. Am I right?
SPEAKER_02
That's where they go. Yeah. And they go to the vegan, vegetarian, lots of salad. That's right. And it's raw plants.
Dr Pompa
Turn your TV on, 2411, whatever it is, ABC, NBC, Fox, they're going to show you a low-calorie diet and a plant-centered diet, and no, you know, staying away from the meats, or if you're going to have a meat, eat a little bit and it's lean meat. Everyone's eating filet. You're saying the exact opposite.
SPEAKER_02
So am I, but yeah. Well, I was also reading the GLP1s are failing. Uh, one is many side effects uh from the drug, but many people are failing once they get off of it, they gain all their weight back. Not many, but everyone gains their weight back. Right, right, right. It's because that's our nature. And so now you got to take it for the rest of your life. And so the beauty of Man, that's a brilliant marketing concept there. Because ultimately people want to move their fat to their butt or their boobs, and because it's reproductive, that's why we do what we do. Even the diet world is still about reproduction. You're not changing that. But by giving people a new tool, the idea is that by eating fat, it reduces the inflammation, it satiates you, it provides all the minerals and body and macros your body needs, and it doesn't require insulin or the liver. That's magic.
Dr Pompa
Yeah. Listen, I'm a big fat fan. I mean, it's like I yeah, one of the things that I've done, I've obviously worked with very sick people, and getting them to eat fat is very different. Your cell membranes, if you fix the membrane of a cell, you transform your hormone health and your health in general. Oh, what's that made of? Fat. You know, the two stabilizing fats in the membrane. If I asked my audience, what are the most two dangerous fats, cholesterol and saturated fat? Guess what? They're the stabilizers in that cell membrane.
SPEAKER_02
Well, who's the unsung hero of the cell?
Dr Pompa
Well, I would say saturated cholesterol and omega-6. Sugars. Yeah. Well, the glycocalate. No, the glycochalates. The glycocaelates. Absolutely. They're the communicators.
SPEAKER_02
Well, they're they determine your blood type, not a protein, a sugar. Your HLA is a sugar. Your sperm and egg can't come together or the embryo can't implant without the proper sugars. How do you dissolve a sugar? Sugars. Like dissolves light. So we're bathing our body in excess of sugar. Because once again, everyone's got a glucose monitor and their sugars are always elevated. But what they want is they want they want a steady sugar, right? That's deadly. Because no animal has a steady sugar. My sugars are 45 to 50 when I don't eat for a week. And then they go up to 110 when I eat, and then back down to When I'm fasting, mine are in the 40s. Well, that's what it should be because you want an empty gut. So a human lion, which is what we are, we evolved out of the trees, not to eat the grass, but the grass eaters. So we're not eating that anymore. Okay.
Dr Pompa
I I I'm not a I'm not a vertical evolution person, you know, meaning that we came from apes, but that's me.
SPEAKER_02
I didn't say we came from apes.
Dr Pompa
Okay, good. But anyway, I people would disagree with me there, but I'm good with that too. But here's the thing uh but people most people out there would argue this though. We're not lions. Meaning they have a very short digestive track. We have an omnivore digestive track, meaning that we're we're not apes either, you know, but we have this perfect omnivore digestive system. We're lions. So you think we have the same digestive tract that are very high acid short digestive.
SPEAKER_02
We're examples of who we're more like as lions and wolves. We we live in packs. We hunt in packs.
Dr Pompa
Socially, yeah. But what about our digestive tract?
SPEAKER_02
It's it's similar. It's nothing's exact here. We're not apes, we're not lions, we're but aren't we more like omnivores? We are omnivores. Yeah. We are omnivores. Okay, but I'm using the term lion is who we are. Okay.
Dr Pompa
You're saying it from a social because you do the pack example. Right on, okay. Right on. Fair enough.
SPEAKER_02
So we used to hunt and kill and eat. And then the dictators, the directors, the the kings and queens, the pharaohs understood how to control the masses, feed them bread and beer. Highly addictive and controlling. Slave, soldiers, peasants, and prisoners, that's what they're fed.
Dr Pompa
They're gonna you know what they're doing instead now. Well, I would agree the food companies are still doing that, but now it's even the drugs.
SPEAKER_02
Oh, it's all so so what causes depression? Inflammation.
Dr Pompa
Well, according to them, it's the lack of the medication, it's the lack of SS. Yeah, right, right, right.
SPEAKER_02
So, but but that's all that's I mean, I'm a reproductive endocrinologist, by the way, board certified in OBGY and NREI, and I focus on the whole human and in understanding the simplicity of the very rare, by the way. And I and I'm still a surgeon, I still operate, and but I really focus on what I can teach you to change what your environment and help you heal, whatever it is. In fertility is just another disease that we label. It's caused by the same plant sugars, plant antigens, plant chemicals, fermentation, and excessive exercise. That's the cause of all of our problems. Oh, we tapped into another one. Excessive exercise. What do you mean by that? Well, no animal exercises, they live the lives that they're set out to do. We are not doing that. We are getting on a treadmill, excessively lifting weights to build muscles. No other animal does that. And we're we're born to to feast and reproduce and and protect and and and create our shelters, tools. We've created a world.
Dr Pompa
Yeah, yeah, but would you argue that you're sitting in an office all day that you should basically imitate building things? Meaning, isn't kind of exercise we're imitating what we really should be doing, but we don't because of modern living?
SPEAKER_02
No, because it's repetitive. And um repetitive work like we do in the industrial world is killing people. And uh there are more joint replacements going on today than ever before. And slow it down. Go for a walk if you want. Build something, create something. I do pottery painting. I used to build, rebuild cars and furniture. It's creating is what I have. It looks like you lift a little weights.
Dr Pompa
I do come on, make that muscle. I do lift some weights.
SPEAKER_02
I do 100-200-scaps.
Dr Pompa
And a 70-year-old with a muscle.
SPEAKER_02
I do 100 push-ups a day. Uh I do lightweights sometimes. I do no heavy weights. I literally do that again.
Dr Pompa
I do very light, but I'm telling you, you and I work out, and and I agree with you. I think that it's very in vogue, all these exercises, it's overkill. Again, the premise of hormesis. They're doing so much that they're not adapting and they're creating a greater stress than their body can actually adapt to.
SPEAKER_02
Our bodies are gonna die and fall apart like my car. You can't stop it.
Dr Pompa
But you do are doing some exercise. You're doing some walking, you're doing some body weight type of exercise.
SPEAKER_02
I stand at a desk, but I'm a mover. I'm like, I'm always
Protein Poison, Fasting, And Muscle Debate
SPEAKER_02
doing this or I'm doing this, and I'm moving. I don't sit still. This is my ADHD, D ADHD, all that stuff. Uh-huh. But that's who we are. Yeah. See, we've been drugged. Plants are a drug to con to to make you sit still or make you not sit still, but then we have another drug for you. And so ultimately, we're damaged in disease from a deadly diet, which is all food you consume is processed by someone else. And plants in general are more toxic than the meat. But lean meat can be toxic because it's fermentable. And fermentation in the gut is the leading cause of almost all disease.
Dr Pompa
So it's lean, so it has less fat, lean. Okay, but what why is does that make it more fermentable? Because amino acids are sugar essentially and they're fermentable. So gluconeogenesis, it'll break down the sugar, the the proteins faster into sugar.
SPEAKER_02
So so amino acids are glucogenic or ketogenic, or both. Those are essentially fermentable substances. And so the the proteins that you the meat you eat or the plants you eat both contain sugars, proteins, and fats. The the plants are more difficult to digest because of fiber, right? So now you're enabling the microbes to flourish more, but the amino acids from both plants and animals basically go to the liver. In the liver, insulin, by the way, is delivered from the pancreas directly to the liver. Say that one more time before I said So anatomically, the all the blood flow from the pancreas goes to the liver. All the blood flow from the gut goes to the liver. That's a function. Form and function. Insulin goes to the liver when you eat food. If you don't eat food, you fast for days. There's no insulin. Insulin's job is not to control your glucose levels, it is not to put glucose in your cells, it's to make fat in the liver. Yeah, store fat stores. Make fat. Make fat. Once you've made fat, it's automatically delivered to adipocytes and to the cells of your body. Because our caloric intake is greater than our caloric expenditure. Very just generalized term, by the way. We tend to gain more weight and we tend to gain it easily, especially in a highly plant sweet, but even not sweet diet, because people get fat, sorry, on salad all day long. But what does everyone put on their salad? Salad dressing, which is high-end.
Dr Pompa
Yeah, but I again it's never quite that simple. People do get fat from eating salad, meaning I've watched people get fat be from eating five to eight hundred calories a day too long of a period because the body thinks it's starving. Okay, the metabolism, they lose muscle.
SPEAKER_02
We don't even know what a calorie is for most people. If you're gaining weight, so a bear will hibernate six months and gestate one to four baby bears. They lose no muscle mass and they lose no mo bone mass. They only lose fat. Yeah. So I this is where where I differ. Versify design. Right. Well, people aren't losing muscle mass except if they're not using their muscles. Because when I broke my leg and the cast came off in six months, it was like a little stick. So I just think a lot of the terms we use are overly simplified and exaggerated in the wrong direction. Because you would not mess around with the chimpanzee and they don't exercise, they will kill you. And they're little beasts. We don't understand the power of our muscles, even in someone that's overweight, or we think, oh, they don't have any muscles. There's too much on the protein sparing diets. Protein-sparing modified fasting, which I think is a low-fat diet. You can do it in short spurts if you like want to lose weight. Yeah. But long term it's difficult.
Dr Pompa
I I agree. I I say that all the time. Well, let's let's talk about that because right now it's in vogue. Um high protein diets is in vogue in our space. Um I I don't want to say low, they're not saying low fat. They're just, you know, but they're definitely saying high protein. And I bet there's a there's people that fall into different categories there. But let's talk about the high protein phrase. I because I mean let's let's face it, uh a perimenopause, menopause women, they start eating higher protein, they feel better because they're protein deficient. But high protein diet too long, talk about that.
SPEAKER_02
I don't believe we're protein deficient. We're fat deficient in our diet, and a high protein diet is fermentable. Many people feel better because I'm assuming most of the protein they're eating is likely animal-centric and not plant-centric. Yeah, that's and so by going more Android Gabriel Lyons. Yes, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I'm a Gabriel.
Dr Pompa
Very fit. Uh, you know, very knowledgeable. I I have nothing negative to say, but she is high protein-centric.
SPEAKER_02
Again, men want curves. They don't need muscles. We want soft. That's nature. That's reproducing. Uh muscles on a woman are not natural in our human evolution because if you don't have enough fat for that baby's gestation.
Dr Pompa
I I I don't know her. I don't know what she's doing. I'm just making a claim overall. Meaning that I agree. I mean, a lot of women today are taking hormones, right? I mean, and I'm not saying she is. I I don't know her. But what I'm saying is, is to get that look that you're describing, I would argue that many of them are taking hormones, not just eating a high protein diet. I agree with you.
SPEAKER_02
I think hormones, hormones are not good for us uh as a supplement, a medication, in my opinion. I think a low animal fat diet is our biggest problem, and there will be many problems on the protein uh uh-centric diet. Um, we are not my question.
Dr Pompa
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02
So are we heading, are these people heading for? I think they are because ultimately it's fat is what your body wants. The high protein diet means your your insulin and your liver are just never stopping because it's proteins require, and if you look at protein poisoning and look at the history of the Romans where they were eating rabbits, but the same symptoms of a sugar-centered diet is the same as a protein-centered diet. Okay. Uh uh, you know, brain fog and and and listlessness and just tired and no energy, and all these things are common in this world. And everyone's looking for, well, what do I do? Don't eat, eat fatty meat, be happy. Sounds simple now. It does, but I do see, I think our adipose tissue contains everything your body needs. We're adding poison to our body that and then fermentable substrates that are a biggest problem for all of us.
Dr Pompa
Well, that's why I mean our bodies, you know, I've written books on fasting. I, you know, are designed to fast. I mean, you know, it's everything's there, right? It's feast famine. Uh, it's and I've got some.
SPEAKER_02
Yeah. I'm not a you know, skinny guy. Yeah. I'm leaner, but but I would tell you that that the carnivore, I've seen the benefits more than anything when you're working to fix something. If you're fine, keep doing what you're doing.
Dr Pompa
I'm not telling you you need to be carnivore. But by the way, uh, you know, you you made a comment earlier that I disagree with in the sense that I've watched people um get skinny fat, right? They'll eat 800 calories, right? And they'll do that for long periods of time. The body is so smart and wants to survive that it will start to hold on to its fat because it is so important. It'll lose muscle and your metabolism goes. It you all of a sudden now you watch this girl, she's working out, she's in the gym, and you look and you go, all that exercise, all that, and then you find out she's eating under a thousand calories. You know, it's I will disagree with you.
SPEAKER_02
Yeah, that's what I said. I think we disagree with you. So so so a bear you will not mess with when it comes out of hibernation. Pissed off. Plenty of muscle, it will take you down. Yeah, but a bear's a bear. A bear is meant to hibernate for months. Okay. Look at we have a very similar biology, by the way. But still a bear. Just we are capable of going weeks and potentially months without food.
SPEAKER_00
I listen, I do so I've I've watched a person fast 121 days. Uh morbidly obese. 100%.
SPEAKER_02
Okay. Okay, but but again, we're we we say a lot of things, and they're become isms, memes. They become our belief system. We have to be careful for that. Then we have to begin to look at nature and look at humans. Our body the only thing that really goes up and down. I agree with Richard. I will tell you the one thing that goes up and down is fat. Fat is meant to do that. Okay, right. Adipose tissue is the most important system. But your body important will test. Adipose tissue is the most important organ system in our body. And your body will not touch your muscles. Okay. It doesn't break down your muscles. It doesn't do that because it has no reason to do that. Because all of your molecules are coming from adipose tissue.
Dr Pompa
Even when you're seeing that's where I disagree. I think that your mitochondria can break, meaning I'm being very simplistic. Okay, so become less efficient. Now, what happens then is it's more simple for it to literally, and it again, it wants to survive. It will hold on to fat, and through gluconeogenesis, it will break down your muscle. And disagree with you. And it will break it right into sugar.
SPEAKER_02
That is scientism. That's what we're taught. But don't we see that though? If I may, no, we don't. We don't, if you step back a moment. Remember, we're all of us in this world, especially in the keto carnival world, we're still in the scientism of Krebs and Warburg. Where did they get their money? Are they any different back then or we are today? They're no different. Okay. So they were on a quest to be famous. It's it's publish or perish. Same world then as it is today. Okay. So now where is it? I don't know that any of what I just finished. Well, again, Rockefeller time, all this time, the same people exist then as they do today. We accept hard science. There is none. Everything we're talking about here is theoretical. Everything. It's our story. I'm telling you my story. You're telling me your story. I honor your story, but it's wrong, in my opinion, because the mitochondria uses acetyl-CoA. Okay. Do you know anything about hepatogenous diabetes?
Dr Pompa
Not enough. Nobody does. I mean, meaning not enough to have that conversation.
SPEAKER_02
Most people know nothing about hepatogenous diabetes and they know nothing about the glycocalyx. They know nothing about post-translational modification of a protein. DNA directs RNA. RNA directs protein synthesis. Protein synthesis is a minor player in the final product. The endoplasm reticulum and the Golgi apparatus have a number of post-translational modifications that must happen in order to make that protein functional. One of the most important is glycosylation. So there are nine sugars that circulate in the human body and that are critical for the proper function of a protein. So as we're speaking, walking, talking, and doing all this stuff, the protein production in almost every cell of your body is happening at the speed of light. So where's it getting all these amino acids and sugars? The glycocalyx from the adipocytes. So this is where the bear comes in. A bear hibernates, gestates six months. It loses no muscle mass, no bone mass. Where did it get all the building structures for those little bears? It gets it from the adipocytes. If you hibernate, you're losing muscle. The reason I do differently. I'll even let you move and you'll still lose muscle. Okay, so I disagree with you. And I disagree because when I did my two weeks of fasting, I've got to tell you, my muscles were still as strong as ever. I lost. But but again, two weeks is two weeks.
Dr Pompa
Dan. I could fast two weeks and not lose much muscle at all.
SPEAKER_02
The problem with us scientists is we're highly narrow. We believe what we believe and we argue with what we don't. Rather than stepping back for a moment and going, like, I've never heard that. That sounds interesting. Well, that's why I'm asking questions. But that's why I'm giving you, I'm giving you, I've given you, but but I'll just hold off a second. Okay. Hepatogenous diabetes is very common. What is it? A cirrhotic has lost significant liver function. Are they fat or skinny?
Dr Pompa
I don't know.
SPEAKER_02
They're skinny. Okay. They're very skinny. Okay. They're fat a standard diet. They have plenty of insulin and they have high glucose and insulin. So how come they aren't gaining weight? Because the liver's function is to make the fat, not the cells of the body. Okay? If your severe anorexic has less than 5% fat on your body, let's say you have 1%, how long are you going to live? Not long. You're going to die. That's why many anorexics are known to just drop dead. So you have to take all of this information and try to look at the human body and and visualize how it really works. Because we're still dealing with the science from my world. Yeah, I get it.
Dr Pompa
I'm living in a scientific world. I'm just, you know, again, I've fasted a lot of people, right? And I can tell you that someone who's obese can fast a long time without tapping muscle, right? And um, and by the way, I I have also had people who are fat tap muscle. And we can't we have to pull them out of it.
SPEAKER_02
They're losing intramuscular fat. They're not losing muscle, they're losing the muscle mass. Again, intramuscular fat, but again, our body requires fat.
SPEAKER_00
We don't eat it. But it will break down muscle into sugar.
SPEAKER_02
It does not. It does, it will help us survive. You know why? It doesn't? Because you're the glycocalyx, so a chylomicron, what is it? It's a molecule created in the gut from fat. Now remember, people eat oils. Oils are not animal fats. Oils are devoid of the glycocalyx. The glycocalyx also is attached to proteins. Oils are manufactured industrial products that are not the same as animal fat. And so the animal fat, the adipose site, contains a very robust glycocalyx, amino acids and proteins and fats. And the minerals and vitamins are also in that. So think of an adipose site, a chylomicron, and a very low density lipoproteins are all essentially the same molecules. Their job is to deliver to your adipose tissue and every cell of your body the Amazon delivery truck, the prime delivery truck. But again, we think of cholesterol and fat basically as like clarified butter. Yeah. Right? Or olive oil. Is olive oil fat? It's not. It's it's it's a plant oil, which is a deadly substance for humans. That's the whole crux here. Okay, so hepatogens.
SPEAKER_00
I love this conversation. I I've just I mean I feel like again, I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass. I'm just saying I'm Italian and I love olive oil.
SPEAKER_02
Okay, so but but but I've always eaten meat, olive oil. Again, we love it. It's an it's an industrial expressed product from a plant. It's the whole seed and and the fruit, by the way, mostly. You can get them de seeded, right? But that's not the most common way we get it. So you're essentially getting a seed oil, which contains many antigenic substances that may be inflammatory to all of us. Remember, how much COVID virus?
Dr Pompa
But again, there's some of those polyphenols that potentially, again, they they have this hormones. Jesus ate olive oil.
SPEAKER_02
So again, but we did in that time because those were our
Simple Fertility Advice And Closing Resources
SPEAKER_02
medicinal uh uses for these substances. Look at I love olive oil small amounts sometimes, but I don't believe it's that healthy thing for us. But again, I'm living in a world of why did why does the the new food pyramid still keep that low? Because we have to have a consensus with the all players in this the plant manufacturers and the processed food manufacturers and the.
Dr Pompa
I don't know that Bobby gives a damn about that.
SPEAKER_00
However, it's not well, but that's what we're basically it didn't it said it still had it there at the bottom.
Dr Pompa
Yeah, I literally think that they were trying to make it. I mean, he he, you know, Mark Hyman was there last night. Um, you know, a lot of different people who all he took everyone's, you know, you weren't there. You should have had your say in this, I'm telling you. And we'd have had like fatty meats a little bit higher somehow.
SPEAKER_02
But but uh I'm not arguing with the world. I'm you're only sharing a story. Yeah, no, no, no. And I'm sharing a story that our science is wrong. I call it scientism. Has the invent in the the invention of modern science uh generally made us healthier or sicker? Sicker. Okay. So what part of any of the science do you accept as true?
Dr Pompa
Yeah, no, I I make these arguments. And this is what I'm saying. Yeah, I make these arguments. You know, I look at human beings every day. I hate science, by the way, because we can make it say what we want.
SPEAKER_02
You know, it's so spirituality and our biblical ancient stories are really the most powerful, important thing of everything.
Dr Pompa
I agree.
SPEAKER_02
And that's where we are, we should we focus on the biblical stories of our humanity. And okay, you can have some of the plant-based, oil-based plant stuff. That's okay. I'm not telling you not to, but to claim they're healthy for you and then claim that something else is unhealthy, we are absolutely judging when in fact we don't know what the object is. I'm telling you a story. But I'm but but scientist-wise, the glycocalyx is more important than anything. Proteins are like minuscule because proteins is methylated, hydroxylated, glycosylated, but we're killing ourselves because of our modern environment.
Dr Pompa
And well, that's a fact. I mean, that's a fact, right? And and I I want to finish this out. I want to bring it back to the people out there that are hurting with uh, you know, infertility right now is affecting a lot of lives, right? So give just give like okay, because I mean, you've been very successful. You have, like I said, one of the largest clinics in the world that is dealing in helping people with these conditions. So give them like the top three things that they need to do right now to change that. Right now. And again, make it so like like everyone can do it. And again, I you know everyone.
SPEAKER_02
So we're all human beings. We all have the strength to do everything and anything. We've been brainwashed to believe that you're not that smart, uh, you have bad DNA, or there's something wrong with you, but it's the story you've been told. So the first story you tell yourself, I'm a mother, I'm a father, I'm a parent, and I am healthy and well. Because the mind leads and the body follows. So true. And faith in God to me, I don't care what religious organization or not, have faith in God within yourself and within everyone else around you. Even those things you don't like, because that's part of the universe, the yin and the yang. Number two, fatty meat. I knew you'd say that, but I'm critical. Critical and minimize the plants, maximize the fat. Okay. If you choose to eat a plant-centric diet, cook it well, minimize the fiber, kill the microbes, and add the fat. For me, it's bacon, eggs, butter, beef, salt.
Dr Pompa
I I often will ask We never got to this five things, but finish this point.
SPEAKER_02
We still got one more. Well, let's get to salt and then I'll end it with this next one. Okay. So ultimately, the most important part, the most important part of our lives is our family and reproduction, and people are suffering by having a focus of belief in whatever you're doing, eating fatty meat. And for me, it's more fasting, one meal a day. Because the less you eat, the more you allow the gut to heal, the microbes to do to modulate and suppression.
Dr Pompa
Don't eat less, eat less often.
SPEAKER_02
That's correct. That's correct. And allow the immune system to do the healing, and then they can regress, and you will feel the very best. Okay. And then tell your husband ladies and tell your wives, men, how much you love them every single day, and look in their eyes and do that every single day. Feed them steak and eggs every single day. And make love to them every single day, because ultimately we need to bring our brothers. So that does decrease your chances of fertility. That's why we're all here. And again, it's not for entertainment, it's for building our families.
Dr Pompa
Well, that's the doc's prescription.
SPEAKER_00
Oh, right there.
SPEAKER_02
And don't forget, you see, the interesting part about salt. Yes, salt is critical for the human body because essentially the salt up concentrations within our cells and and between ourselves and in the bloodstream is the key to penetration. It's the key to everything. So it helps your pH and your osmolality and the function of every cell. Interesting, uh extra salt is excreted, extra sugar is saved as fat. Yeah. So again, fat's not our foe, it's our friend because it's the source of all your building blocks and energy for every cell and the building of your baby.
Dr Pompa
But, Doc, the salt, my doctor told me to stay away from it because it's going to cause my high blood pressure and heart disease, make it worse.
SPEAKER_02
We've been incorrectly trained as the cause of disease. We've been trained to blame sugar and fat when the opposite is actually true. When you eat a high salt and a high fat diet, you'll be healthier than everyone. Yeah, I did. So it is salt and fat is the healthiest, and sugar and lean meat is actually our enemy.
Dr Pompa
Yeah. And then they'll be saying, oh, just eat low fat and stay away from salt. And there's the, oh, and here's your blood pressure medication, which oh, well, how long do I have to take that for the rest of your life? See, because the low salt, low fat diet will make it worse.
SPEAKER_02
And we've been trained, I went into medicine to help people heal. I I love what doctors do, and I still do. I learned what we were taught really well, the not the cause of the problems of disease, but how to diagnose them and how to treat them. Now we're to a level that everyone has access to this information through Dr. Pompa's uh podcast, through my podcast, but it's all social. Yeah. You don't have to, you don't have to go to a medical school or get a degree anymore. You actually have more information. You're smarter than your doctors.
Dr Pompa
Yeah, absolutely. Well, it was proven that chat GPT is better than your doctor.
SPEAKER_00
I'm just saying.
SPEAKER_02
Well, I think the beauty of ChatGPT and AI is masterful for all of us because now it gives everyone access to the same information.
Dr Pompa
And dig deep into it. It does piss me off though a lot because it does tell you what you want to hear oftentimes. You have to really, you know, prompt it. So you know, well, be a little careful. It often tells me what they want me to hear. Well, that does that too. It but then it starts to tell you what it knows that you want to.
SPEAKER_00
But your doctor, I'm like, your only reason you're telling me this is because you know that I've asked in the past. But your doctor's gonna give you wrong information. That's the point.
Dr Pompa
It's still better than your doctor. That's way better. Yeah. Way better. Yeah, it it's it's the scary too. How do they find you? Because people are suffering out there. They need answers. And tell them all the things you do at your clinic.
SPEAKER_02
Well, uh, drkilts.com is the best way to find me. Kiltz, just Google it. CY Fertility. We integrate acupuncture, massage, meditation, prayer, yoga, tai chi, uh nutrition, keto, and carnivore for vegan, vegetarians, mediterraneans, pastarians. I don't care who you are. We're not here to say you have to do this. Plus, we also uh utilize lower dose protocols, lower cost protocols, and we do surgery, IUI, IVF, immune treatments, inflammation treatments. Yeah.
Dr Pompa
I mean, all of these things. Where are your clinics?
SPEAKER_02
We're in uh upstate New York, we're in Florida, we'll be in Norfolk, Virginia soon. Uh, we're in Colorado Springs, we're opening up in Southern California, but really you can get us. It's mostly telehealth.
Dr Pompa
You know, you said it in the show somewhere, you know, you're an OBGYN that actually looks at the body as a whole. That's very rare. So give them the website one more time because a lot of people are suffering.
SPEAKER_02
Yeah, go to drkilts.com or CNY Fertilitycom and really uh thank you very much for having me here, Dan. I really appreciate it.
Dr Pompa
I love the conversation. I'm sure they did too. I I I love it, and I I just I love pressing in because I'm curious. So are they. Absolutely. Be curious. Yeah, absolutely. All right, share the show. A lot of people, four percent every year, fertility infertility rates going up. Share the show. Suffering. All right.
